We are Paul and Nailya Cook

We are Paul and Nailya Cook, founders of Four Scents Botanical. We live in the heart of the stunning Kent countryside with our young daughters and there’s nothing we love more than enjoying our wonderful outdoor spaces and all that they offer. Working together, we combined our expertise in quality, bespoke packaging and tailored beauty treatments, to design, source and produce a range of luxury products that are eco-friendly, botanical in origin and natural.

The four seasons. This magical and natural transformation that has inspired a great many works, endeavours and masterpieces. And so they inspired us. We believe there's nothing more sacred than the seasons to mark the different yet special times we spend together. We also believe that there is nothing like beautifully scented products to create a warm and nurturing environment at home.

WHO WE ARE

The alchemy of Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter create rich narratives and a cinematic, ever-changing backdrop to the days of our lives. Seasons and scents are poetically intertwined. From Bergamot which grows in Italy in the Spring, to Neroli, which grows in India  in the Summer, each essential oil and ingredient we’ve used to make our products relies on nature’s rhythm. We created Four Scents Botanical, a luxury natural product brand to welcome and celebrate each season. Now you can fill your home with carefully sourced, natural fragrances to capture the mood, all year round.

WHY ECO SOYA WAX CANDLES?

The Four Scents range is made ...

The Four Scents Botanical range is made entirely from sustainably sourced eco soya wax. Natural, vegan friendly, botanical in origin and fragranced with essential oils. Scented candles can easily be made with paraffin. So why do we do use soya wax?
It’s simple. To safeguard our environment and our health.
• Eco soya wax is made from soy, a sustainable and renewable crop and one which needs never run out.
• Soya wax candles burn clean, leaving no residue in the air and no harmful particles in your environment.
• Soya wax candles burn longer because they have a higher melting point, so the wax melts more slowly, leaving you to enjoy your candle for longer.
• Soya Wax candles retain a better scent as the consistency of soya wax allows it to hold scent better.

Essential oils have been used to help reduce stress for centuries. Through careful alchemy and using the highest quality ingredients, it is possible to create wonderful and beneficial scent combinations.
• We use sustainably sourced botanicals and natural essential oils to create unique aromas.
• Our scents are globally sourced from their origins. Once the core seasonal blends had been devised, our journey to source the oils spanned the world.
• Naturally derived essential oils diffuse better through the wax and reeds; the scents are divine.

How our scents are blended

We have sourced many essential oils to create our four core scents. Each captures the unique qualities of one of the four seasons, creating a trail of essential oils and scents around the world. We then brought the oils back to the UK to be carefully blended into our products, with our candles & diffusers hand-poured and slowly cured.

In each of our Four Scents Botanical scents you will notice fragrances to arrest your senses:

Sense the Difference

Top notes

Those that you notice first, and which draw you in. These will give you your first impression and are the lightest of the scents.

Heart notes

The core of the fragrance. You will recognise these after the top notes start to fade.

Base notes

The scents that become noticeable after your candle has been alight for a little time. Mixed with the heart notes, they deepen the fragrance and will be the longest lasting aroma.

VITALITY

A calming and uplifting, sweet and warm citrusy scent that invokes a sense of rebirth and nurturing.

Spring Vitality fuses the crispy green notes of lemongrass and the sparkling, fresh and citrusy bergamot and Melissa, blended with notes of ylang ylang, vanilla & lime. Fresh and vibrant, this invigorating scent is rooted in togetherness, filling your home with its meditative, nurture-invoking aroma.

RADIANCE

A sweet, optimistic and subtly exotic scent that inspires a sense of joy and connection.

Summer Radiance celebrates the season of summer. The fragrances evoke a sweet, warm breeze and leads us to a tropical Indian orchard path where orange blossom flowers have been growing for the past 5,000 years. Fused with cheerful notes of mandarin, rose and neroli, this bright and subtly sugar-tinged scent will fill your interior with its connection-inducing aroma.

HARMONY

A luxurious, comforting, subtly woody and herbaceous scent that elevates the imagination as it mellows.

Conjuring images of foliage, a roaring fire and earthy sophistication, Autumn Harmony blends the universally loved, earthy and smoky notes of thyme, palo san-to, frankincense and rose geranium, with hypnotic vetivert to finish. Celebrating the season of Autumn, this scent will warm your home with its cosy, imaginative aroma.

A woody, invigorating and perfectly spiced scent that channels a clear sense of roots and purity.

Celebrating the majestic season of Winter, Winter Rest leads you on a snowy forest walk through the woods with pure notes of petitgrain and clove. Elevated with subtle notes of cinnamon, oudh, spikenard, vetivert and cedarwood, this scent will imbue your interior with its purifying, peaceful aroma.
